There are five types of membership
open to all persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel
Club and who subscribe to the purposes of this club.
Regular - is open to
all persons 18 years of age and older and enjoys all club privileges
including the right to vote and hold office.
Associate - is open
to all persons 18 years of age and older and shall enjoy all the privileges
of the PWDCNC except the right to vote and hold office and shall not
count in the determination of a quorum. Dues are set at a lower rate
than regular members, basically to cover printing and postal expenses.
Applications should be filed with the Membership Director, but need
not require sponsors or approval process applicable to prospective
regular applicants; after a period of time (one year), the person
may apply for Regular membership as outlined in the bylaws, but by
2 years must apply for regular membership or associate status will
be withdrawn.
Junior - is open to
persons 10 - 17 years of age; and shall enjoy all the privileges of
the PWDCNC except the right to vote and hold office and shall not
count in the determination of a quorum. Dues are the same as Associate.
Upon reaching the age of 18 may immediately apply for Regular membership.
Senior - is open to
persons 62 years of age or older and enjoys all club privileges including
the right to vote and hold office. They will have the same dues as
associate.
Newsletter - While membership
is to be unrestricted as to residence, the club's primary purpose
is to be representative of the members in the greater San Francisco
Bay area. Newsletter membership is open to all persons 18 years of
age and older not living in the greater San Francisco Bay area and
shall enjoy all the privileges of the PWDCNC except the right to vote
and hold office and shall not count in the determination of a quorum.
They will not be subject to the requirement to convert to regular
membership.
