PWD Fun Walk

Moran Lake County Beach, Santa Cruz

 

Join the PWDCNC for GREAT time on the beach in Santa Cruz. Meet other PWD owners and their dogs.

Enjoy the walk, the water and the company. This is a super way to spend the morning!

 

About:

We will be walking on the sand on the beach along the shoreline. The sandy beach area is flat. There are

benches and real restrooms with water and an outside shower for rinsing off in the parking area of Moran Lake

County Park which is right across the street from the beach.  The walk from the parking lot to the surf is about

300 yards or less and is level.

Bring:

Your PWD, a leash, poop bags, treats and whatever you like to have along with you for an hour or two of

PWD play. Dress warmly but in layers in case it gets warm.

Rain or Shine:

If it is raining hard the walk will be canceled.

 

The Walk Plan:

We will park at the Moran Lake County Park parking lot. Moran Lake County Beach is right across the street

from the parking lot. We will meet in the area across from the bathrooms, next to the benches, in the parking

lot. When we are all there, we will go down to the beach and walk to the right. Signs are posted stating that all

dogs must be leashed and owners can be fined if dogs are off leash. Everyone takes their dog off leash on the

beach in spite of the signs and warnings however, taking your dog off leash is your choice.

Important Information:

 

We will park in the Moran Lake County Park parking lot. Look for the Moran Lake County

Park sign on East Cliff Drive. We will meet in the area by the benches in the parking lot.

Please arrive NO LATER THAN 9:50 AM so we can start at 10:00 AM.

 

Look for me, Ann Gaskell with Norman, my jet black, curly PWD. Norman will be in his

orange collar and orange bandana and I will be wearing a bright orange top.

Directions:

Access to Moran Lake County Park is off East Cliff Drive. Look for the sign that says Moran Lake County Park

and turn in there. We will park in the Moran Lake County Park parking lot next to the benches.
