Founded in 1992, the Portuguese Water Dog Club of
Northern California
- Represents
the greater San Francisco Bay Area
- Encourages,
promotes, protects, and advances the Portuguese Water Dog breed
- Urges
members and breeders to accept the standard of the PWD as approved by
the American Kennel Club (AKC)
- Conducts
sanctioned matches, specialty shows, and obedience trials under the AKC
- Conducts water trials under the rules of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America
(PWDCA)
- Promotes
educational and social activities among Portuguese Water Dog Club
of Northern California Members (PWDCNC)
PWDCNC
activities include the annual water trial in August, the Regional Specialty
in October, occasional "fun" or "play" days, and
a holiday get-together.
